Here's the link to my Batman fic.
Thanks to Nydia for a quick beta reading.
Title: Safe Distance
Summary: The process of making Thrax was stolen in the Gotham biochemical labs. Now the unknown terrorists will deploy a Thrax carrier to Gotham and only Batman and Robin can stop them. Will the leader of the terrorist be brought to justice considering he is from Santa Prisca?
Please read and review.

I'm an Opera lover?
Can you guess what browser I'm using on the screenshot above? Well, it looks like Opera but it's definitely Firefox. Thanks to a blog named FirefoxOpera I made the Fox look and function like my favorite browser. Here's a list of extensions I used:
1. TBE - for perfect tab browsing.
2. Tab X - for the red close icon on my tab.
3. Mini t - better control over tabs.
4. Extended status bar - cosmetic enhancement copying Opera's stat bar.
5. Paste and go - copied Opera function.
6. Session saver - er..to save sessions.
I also used an Opera skin to complete the look of my Firefox. Hmmm, looks like I'll be using Firefox longer than Opera. Now, if only Firefox wasn't such a resource hog. Any idea how to fix Firefox to run better on slow computers with slow connections?

A random update
Just so you know that I'm still alive, here's some random rants:
Update 1: I finished the first draft of my Batman fanfic. I'm currently revising it...not that anyone cares.
Update 2: Notice that my pics are broken. My file host bombed. If anyone knows a better file hosting site that requires no sign up but allows hot linking, please use the comments option below. (Edit: I Found a pic hosting called imageshack. The pics are up again. Bow to the bat.)
Update 3: I'm so into MOO 1 these past days. I wonder why MOO 3 didn't just improved on the first and second MOO? MOO 3 really bombed for me. I was an average student with average grades but I just can't understand MOO 3. I think that latest incarnation is only for die hard strategy gamers and Excel number crunchers.
See 'ya next time.

X-com is still great
Circa 1995: The venerable X-com (also known as UFO: enemy unknown) was the first squad level tactical game that became a commercial success. The first squad level tactical game was called Laser Squad(very enjoyable game for me as well); while some can say it's also good, it never came close to the sheer playability and fun factor that X-com has.
Now everyone can once again play this classic strategy game by way of abandonware sites. These abandonware sites are dedicated to old games that are in the public domain or games that are so old they are no longer sold anywhere.
You can visit Abandonia for a more extensive review of X-com. This site also has the downloadable Collectors Edition version of X-com that can run in Windows. For alternate downloads you can visit BHlegend for the Dos 1.0 version of X-com. For all things X-com(patches, utilities, strategy guides), visit Xcomufo.

MOO on XP
I have rediscovered Master Of Orion again thanks to Dos Box. MOO is a 4x strategy game (xplore, xpand, xploit, xterminate) set in space. The concept of 4x is like that of Civilization, but I never really got into Civ as much as I have on MOO.
If you were wondering how I made MOO work in XP, the answer is simply because I used Dos Box. Dos Box is an x86 emulator that plays old Dos games in newer platform. MOO works flawlessly in the new version of Dos Box, it even has sound effects and music.
If you are remotely into strategy games, I suggest you give MOO a shot, you will surely like it. If you want to read an extensive review on MOO, go here. Click here for MOO resources and free downloads.

Lack of posts
It means that I'm writing my third fanfiction. This time I'm writing a Batman and Robin fic.
A new terrorist organization are rumored to have got a hold of Thrax, a biochemical weapon of immense destruction. Batman and Robin sets out to uncover the whereabouts of the organization and stop them before they process the doomsday device.
I'm currently working on my fourth page. This draft will probably reach about 4-5 thousand words if I'm not careful. So far, things are going smoothly, but I may have to sacrifice some story elements for brevity.
On the other hand, I'm currently out of touch with the latest manga scanlation news and manga reviews. I'm hoping to get updated again, but my fanfic hobby is really my thing nowadays.

Great torrent archive of comic scans
This site called Z-cult FM was discovered by my friend, Geekman when he was surfing for anime torrents. This site, he told me, is the best site to look for comic scans. This time the comics are from Marvel, DC, Image, and other Western comics publisher. If you are looking for complete volume scans of Ultimate Spiderman, X-men, Batman, Superman, and a host of other titles, this site is the best place to look. A warning though, this is not for people with dial-up connection 'coz the file size of the scans is huge.
