RoughDraft 3.0 - update at last

rough

It’s been years since RoughDraft 2.11 was updated but now you can download and enjoy RoughDraft 3.0, just head over to Richard Salsbury’s website.

RoughDraft is a free word processor with the writer in mind. It’s small, compact, but full of rich features just right for the creative writer. No need to buy Microsoft Word if you only want to type up the manuscript for your short story or poetry.

Here’s a list of features for RoughDraft that I use:

1. Pad - a small side panel application that allows the user to store unorganized information. Great to put your outline and other story ideas.

2. Spelling checker - we all know what this is but the new version ups the ante with Live Spellcheck that is much like the MS Word red squiggly lines under the misspelled words.

3. Printing - the new printing function is more powerful, with the ability to make cover pages on the fly.

4. Portability - installing it to a USB drive makes it more useful to me.

There’s lots more of features included in the 3.0 version and I’m sure this app can help you with your writing, especially if you’re on a budget.

Super Robot Wars 3

During the 1990's, Dragonball Z pirated videos were so popular in my high school. Most of the pirated DBZ VHS tapes were professionally subtitled or dubbed so almost every single anime dork in school has just got to have a copy, except me, since I can't afford it that time. But eventually I got invited to watch a DBZ episode in my classmate's house and I was so blown away by the awesomeness of Super Saijins since the local TV showed really old episodes and that was the very first time I saw Goku transform into a dynamo of destruction.

Yeah it was awesome, but DBZ's not the topic it's Super Robot Wars. But it's related in a way. You see, these pirated DBZ episodes were directly copied from Japanese television and the pirate did not bother to remove the commercials. Whoever you are Mr. Pirate, I thank you for not editing out the commercials for Super Robot Wars because that commercial introduced me to a very unique and fun game.

The commercial showed famous giant robots like Voltes V, Combatler V, Ghetta, Mazinger-Z, and the Gundams fighting against the DC soldiers lead by Char Aznable, jeez I almost pissed in my pants when I saw that the robots were really fighting with all the special moves and transformations. The next day I immediately scoured every Snes store and computer shop to find an SRW cartridge but I was heart broken when I found out that SRW was never translated in english.

Years passed and the game slipped my mind until I got to play it ten years later when roms sprouted around the net, and when the almighty Gideon Zhi decided by force of will to translate Super Robot Wars 3. I'm positive that there's a Super Robot Wars rom for the Gameboy Advance (GBA) yet because of nostalgia this Snes version of the game appeals to me so much more.

To play SRW3, you need an Snes emulator like Zsnes. You can search for the rom by clicking here . SRW3 is a fun strategy/rpg game that will keep you glued to your seats for hours. Go give it a try.

This blog monetized by Google

Image Hosted by ImageShack.us
My geeky interests are all concentrated in this blog, so I figured why not make money out of it since I have nothing to lose by joining Adsense.

To be able to maximize earnings I need to jack up my waning unique visitors by coming up with more manga and anime-centric posts, as well as writing about freeware software and other nerdy stuff. I began this blog with about 50 unique hits a day and it started dropping when I fail to post any updates about my hobby. Actaully, just writing the words Naruto, Full Metal Alchemist, and Bleach will jack up my pageview a bit.

The goal for this month is to come up with content to bring back my lost unique pageviews. Generating about 50 unique hits a day is not bad to give me a decent amount of CPM's per month, of course these are all optimistic calculations but it is very do-able.

So expect more anime and manga reviews, hey maybe I can add some links to scanlation sites. Now, all I need to do is study some more HTML to make a better layout. Darn you Timlight! Why don't you teach me these things?
