Michael Jackson cartoons

It's already old news that Michael Jackson was found innocent by a jury rumored to be high on Jesus Juice, but these funny cartoons are fresh and, well, funny. The site has tons of political cartoons about The King of phedo...erm...I mean...King of pop. If you love to hate Jack-o then browse the cool cartoons.

I got this link from Cardinal Sin's Blog. Warning: The Cardinal's blog is Not Safe For Work. So you kiddies just click on the cartoons link.

Tons of roms links

Here are the rom links from digg. Get MAME, Turbo Grafix 16, N64, Snes, Genesis, GBA, DS, and a lot more roms for every system from this link.

Randomstuff blog

This Blogger site owned by a dude named Karl has some of the coolest links on the web. Karl claims that he finds "the latest and greatest in news, deals, humor, and freebies so you don't have to."

This guy posts these interesting links almost everyday. His site is not as well known as FARK but his site is a model of how Blogspot should be used.

If you want the latest offbeat links, go here. Karl's blog is really nice.

Retro time

This new template I found here reminds me so much of the design I picked when I was blogging on Tripod. I called my old blog Dark Misty Realm and had the look almost exactly as this template. I remembered being a very active blogger in Tripod. I think that's the most productive site I had.

Nostalgia sucks.

I also picked the black background because it is easier to read than any other backgrounds. Maddox said that reading about an hour on white background (of your monitor) is tantamount to looking at a florescent for the same amount of time.

Gotta split now.

TWIT and Systm for dial-up users

This site called ZeroVerteX encodes TWIT and Systm episode into 16kb media files. For example, TWIT episode ten is 27mb for 64kbit and 13mb for 32kbit. The 16kbit version is just around 7mb download. This is very convenient to download these smaller files for my dial-up connection.

If you are on dial-up, go visit the site for the smaller files.

Sony hypocrite

From digg:

"It is utterly undesirable, but we cannot stop software makers from selling such videos (porn)," a public relations official at Sony Computer Entertainment said. The hand-held PlayStation uses the universal media disc, or UMD, format, enabling the console to play games or videos recorded on optical discs 2.3 inches in diameter.

According to digg posters, Sony is the only one who can make UMD's. This means that any company (from porn or otherwise) must go through Sony to make any videos available to the public.

Civilization 4

My girlfriend is a RABID Civilization 3 addict. When she visits me at home she plays for hours while I'm asleep. When I wake up she still plays the damn game. She's so addicted to Civ 3 that she has saved games on my computer and then another saved game on the family PC.

If you are reading this, my love, there will be a Civilization 4 coming out soon. I hope this time you can run Civ 4 on your own PC.

I found this story on digg.

CFH tracker owner quits scene

According to the Call For Help tracker owner:

I also have an unfortunate announcement to make. As many of you have no doubt noticed, I've been having a lot of trouble keeping up lately. I've decided I can no longer do so. Therefore, I've decided that since the upcoming Kevin Rose episodes have a large demand, I will provide those and they will be the last I do. Thanks for all the support over the past few months. I hope you will all get to see the show on your TVs soon.

It's too bad 'coz there is no way for me to get CFH 2.0 in the Philippines.

Update: It's back up now. Thanks, Chris.

Hajime no Ippo

Hajime no Ippo (also called Fighting Spirit or Knock Out) is one of my favorite mangas of all time. This series is all about boxing that revolves around a noob boxer named Makonouchi Ippo.

(*Spoiler alert* If you are watching the series I might ruin some plot if you continue reading below.)

Ippo starts out as a wimpy high school student that was always being pushed around by his school mates. One time, Ippo was being beaten up when he was suddenly rescued by Mr. Takamura, Japan's reigning middle weight champion. After this episode, Ippo convinced the champion to bring him to their boxing gym so he could train for boxing.

Initially, Ippo only wanted to box so he could exercise. But after meeting his fierce rival Miyata, he began to obsess about finding the true meaning of strength. This time he began to love boxing for the sheer joy of it. Eventually, Ippo began to carve a name for himself in Japanese boxing. He was known as the man with the Dynamite Punch.

His win record and reputation earned him a shot against Mr. Date, Japan's fly weight champion. Though he was not able to beat Mr. Date, he got another shot at the title when he beat another fierce rival, the Tiger of Nanuwa, named Rocky.

(*End of spoiler*)

According to some manga sites, the anime was cut short after Ippo became the champion. But the manga is still on-going in Japan until now. Fans of the manga said that the series is still as good as it was in the anime. To get some manga scanlation of the new issues of the series go here.

I give this series 5 out of 5.

Resume templates for MS Word

My philosophy in making resumes is to make it as readable in one scanning as possible. But it wouldn't hurt if your resume is also aesthetically pleasing. So here are all of Microsoft's resume templates for you to play with. Hey Geekman, check the templates out and choose whatever suits your taste.

Template change

I got tired of looking at my old blog template so I changed it to this simple, three column layout. I found this template here.

I removed the navbar (with great hesitation) so my template can fit the whole screen. Since I have no navbar, I placed a Google search field on the left-hand side below the links for easy access.

If you find any bugs in the template, please leave a comment to report it to me.

Update: I change to default Blogger template again. I found annoying bugs in the 3 column layout. Sigh, it was such a handsome layout, too bad.
