How to Discover Profitable Clickbank Products

A short video I cooked up on how to discover profitable Clickbank products to promote.

It's really short and you'll learn things like gravity and other fine barometers of a great CB product.

I think I'll create more explainer videos in the future. It's a fun little project and I'm learning video editing from it. Win-win situation for me.

DTC GT9-R12 is a Piece of Crap

This DTC mobile phone is a piece of crap.

The camera is okay. But I'm not really into that.

The processor is 1ghz dual core? Maybe. I've not really tested.

The screen is big, but the resolution is just standard.

As you can see, I'm not really delving deep into it. I bought this thing years ago, and I'm only "reviewing" it just now. No real reason why, it's just what it is.

Anyway, the biggest problem of this phone is the internal memory. It is less that 200MB. E 'di wow! You can't fit much into this. Hell, I needed to uninstall Google Play updates just to keep the internal memory from filling up.

Conclusion: Don't buy this one.

Alcatel OT Soleil Mini Review

It is a cool dual core phone running Jelly Bean. BUT, if you value battery life, this won't last the day with heavy use.

Sayang, okay pa naman siya. Kaya lang charge ng charge lagi.

Cheap 7" Android Netbook Review

I was able to acquire a 7" Android netbook. Here is my capsule review of the hardware and software:

1. Android 4.0.3 ICS - Works great in this little package, all apps work and they are fast.
2. Keyboard - A little bit bleh. You will mistype a lot.
3. Screen - Very good.
4. Build - Sturdy and does not feel cheap at all.
5. Emulation gaming - Haha! Just downloaded Retroarch from the Playstore and this baby is rocking it.

The video review above is basically the same build, except that mine is ICS and with a little bit faster processor and higher RAM.

UPDATE: Battery life is excellent. Almost 8 hours of continuous video playback.

Revamped Home Jobs PH Website

We are still alive and kicking. Though we have been busy and seemingly have abandoned this site, we are hard at work to experience more online businesses and profitable online trends. We are trying an experiment in the next few days. I can't say what it is yet, but if successful, this site will be completely revamped and relaunched.

We hope to launch this experiment so that we can share the experience with you. I hope you can join us for the wild ride ahead.

Head on over to Home Jobs PH, my other hobby site and see how you can make money online. It is not easy to make money online, but it is definitely worth the time and effort.

Here's to your online success!

Testing Windows Live Writer

2011-04-02_215443

This is a test post for Windows Live Writer for XP. I’m now using Windows XP on my main netbook, an Asus 701. I’m still dicking around this blog posting app and trying to look at the features. It looks ok so far, but the real test is if this entry gets posted to the blog. If not then this text will be erased and you will never see this crap materialize.

The UI is easy to understand. Just type away in Live Writer and then post your entry. That’s basically it. The setup was just a matter of entering your blog platform as well as your username and password.

One immediate downside is that the app does not seem to recognize my drafts. So essentially I still need to open a browser and edit my drafts in Blogger. Maybe I made a mistake, but I can’t be sure. So email me if I’m wrong on this one point.

Edit: I just found out that you can retrieve the drafts with “open.” Dang, good thing I figured it out. I almost deleted Live Writer.

Screenshot of My Trusty Netbook

I stole this idea from Ben Brooks of the Brooks Review. The concept is basically about what your desktop looks like. So here is the desktop of my main netbook in all of its glory.

That's it. I will explain in as little detail as possible.

1. I have the taskbar in XP on auto hide in order to maximize screen space.

2. I almost have no use for the taskbar because I use a program launcher called Find and Run Robot.

Now, this is my text editor. It is called Focus Writer.

This is basically where I earn my living - desktop and text editor. So that's pretty much my workspace. More on this crap soon.

What Games Are You Playing Now?

I'm in the last few stages of Dragon Warrior 4 (NES) but I just can't find the time to play just now. I'm so busy with work I really can't play much anymore. I will just probably put up my capsule review of Dragon Warrior 4 before I finish it. Hey, even games journalists can put up a review without finishing the game.

Anyway, my take on Dragon Warrior 4 is that it's a great game. But I do have a few tips and suggestions to make it even more awesome.

That said, I have deadlines to meet and I'm blogging here. Meanwhile my wordprocessor is blank, save for the blinking cursor.

My New Squidoo Lenses for 2011

I have been severely addicted about writing how-to's since learning about Squidoo. I've earned about $5.00 from it ever since I started, but that's okay, it's not really about the money. It's all about helping people with some tech guides and tutorials.

I recently had a Squidoo kick and made a few more lenses. So without further ado, here are my new Squidoo lenses for 2011:

1. How to Play Playstation Games Using Your USB Flash Drive

2. Puppeee Linux For eeePC 701 Review

3. Dingoo A320 Retro Games Handheld System

4. How to Play Gameboy Games in Ubuntu or Jolicloud

I hope you find my lenses fun and useful. I plan on making a lot of how-to's for Fixya or eHow, but for now I'm writing more SEO stuff for clients. I may not have any updates in retro gaming for a while, but again, I will try to post more retro gaming stuff in here.

Writer's Block & Writing About Writing

This will be a short post just to have an update.

When I experience writer's block, I never ever fight it or force myself to write. I read incessantly a lot of articles on how to combat writer's block, but I never really apply them. Well, I have writer's block right now. Not because I can't write anything, what I mean is that I can't write on topic in this blog today. So I will just write about writing.

I never considered myself to be a good writer even though I worked for print. Without my trusty grammar checker, Grammatica, I will be lost in grammar hell. Thank goodness for spell checkers, too. My inspiration in writing comes from a short article in Byte magazine authored by Jerry Pournelle. His article entitled, "How To Get My Job" was published more than a decade ago, but it is still 100% relevant today. Pournelle is a great writer and knows what he is talking about when it comes to writing. He has authored a number of best-selling sci-fi books that are not only well-written, but also well imagined.

If you are a writer (or if you want to be), check out the link below to the article.

Chaos Manor - How To Get My Job

I will not run this post through Grammatica, so please nitpick on my grammar on the comments section.

I don't write for Google

I never write for machines to be able to spider this website. I never ever optimize this site for any keywords or what bullshit SEO term you can think of. This hobby site is just that - a hobby site. Now, I usually get 99% of my traffic from Google, but after the almighty search engine dictatorship changed their algorithm a few days ago, my traffic dipped tremendously.

Why? This site might have been flagged as a "content farm" or whatever the hell it's called. How the hell can this blog with barely any content for the last couple of years be a content farm? Now, I don't earn any money from this blog, not one cent. I recently, and by recently I mean yesterday, tried to place one ad from an advertising company to get a few dollars. Needless to say, I got approved by the company, but the kicker is, with my traffic so low now, I will probably get kicked out of the program in a couple of days.

Thanks a lot, Google. Do no evil, indeed.

Google Trend on ROMs and Emulation

The picture above is the trending topic on search keywords ROMs and Emulation. This explains a lot. Emulation gaming is not what it used to be 4 to 5 years ago.

On a related note, Manga is up on the search trend, but Scanlation is down almost as bad as ROMs and Emulation.

Hurray For Less Ads!

I took off one adsense unit on this site. The truth is, I'm not making any money from this site. I have not seen a dollar or much less a cent from this blog. This is my hobby blog. The ads are just like a small delusion for my brain. It makes me feel like I'm a professional blogger making actual money off this site.

I don't want to play the SEO game. I feel like if the content of this site is inferior so be it. Screw you, this is my site regardless of the quality. I don't want to target keywords or to play keyword zombie for the mighty Google.

I remember blogging to be something better than just playing match the keywords for search engines. Right now, blogging is dying. Not because of Twitter, but because of SEO assholes and Social Media douchebags. Content and voice should be enough. But no, you had to game the system, don't you?

This site will still have some ads, not because I need the money, but again, it's something psychologically pleasing for me to think about. Call me a hypocrite or what have you. I don't give a damn. I stopped giving a damn a long time ago.

BastichOS is still my pet project. I blogged here January 1, 2005, and I will blog here until I can't write anymore.

The URL changes cost me

I might have caused some Google penalties when I changed URL. My pagerank might have gone down once I used redirected temporarily 302. I hope that when I changed to 301 I can get the Google juice I need for this site.

I'm sick of Google, but what can a voiceless, little person like me do?

What the heck happened?

I screwed up the total DNS control amd MX record of this site. Stay tuned. But for now, you can visit this site by typing http://bastichos.blogspot.com in your favorite browser.

Have a nice stay here. Please explore the archive for more information. Or just leave. You ungrateful bastards. :)

Update: Fixed it!

Thursday, September 25, 2008

It's www.bastichos.info now

Due to my own fault and my less evolved brain, I screwed up the DNS transfer of the new domain for more than 24 hours. Hence, people searching in Google are brought to a parking space in Godaddy land instead of this wonderful page.

Let me just say that it's fixed now, just to belabor the point. I'm still sick, but posting here relaxes me a bit. I'm slowly accepting freelance work again, but I really can't work in front of the PC for more than 3 hours straight as much as I want to. Heck, I can't even play for more than 2 hours.

So, BastichOS is back. I'm here to stay so I can rant about bullshit 3d games, awesome NES games, obscure manga scanlations, and a shit ton of anything in between.

It's now www.BastichOS.info.

Ed: Still having problems. Had to use 301 or 302 on the controls.

Comments are off, dicks

I don't want to get another comment like this, "Wer can i find that romz and how do i pach it?" Or comments like this, "Get your woman wet as the ocean! We got just the thing to fill your stuff."

Since I don't have the time or inclination to moderate comments and click delete for even a minute of my day, I decided to turn the comments off. In the early days of the Internets, comments had value and added content to any blog site.

Today, when even idiots can now use a PC, most comment pages are like cesspools for spammers and parasites who think they are privileged to say anything they want, and to get everything they want.

I guess just clicking on the comment link , inputting the captcha, and pressing post is not enough of a deterrent for morons with a lot of time in their hands.

Guess what? If you really want your stupid questions to be answered, then ask away in your own site. Better yet, why not use a search engine.

Now, if you really want to reach me, you can find my contact information somewhere in this site.

I hope that this is a much better deterrent.
